The journey is the destination, as they say, and I'm grateful for every step, literally.
My first symptom occurred in late 2022. I developed a sudden limp, which turned into difficulty walking. After a flurry of tests, specialists, and scans, I finally got my diagnosis - a rare vascular orthopedic disease called Avascular Necrosis (AVN). Mine caused a fracture, which led to bedrest, and also a "hail Mary" surgery to attempt to restore my bone and bloodflow, and it worked. Until this day, I'm walking on all my natural bone.
Since my AVN diagnosis, my right and left hips have each taken different journeys. Each side faced a different set of challenges, issues, losses, successes. As I say, and as anybody who has been through health challenges knows - my health issues rewired my brain. All of it helped turn my focus inward, towards wellness.
I love the intersection of travel, wellness, and good hospitality. I want to help you find your state of calm, strength, confidence, answers, explorations - your wellness and well-being already exist within you, and I want to help you find it. Sometimes you have to follow the call of travel to find it, and I'll help you. Your body and mind belong only to you. Protect and defend it, because it's all you have.
It's easy to lose touch with the most important relationship we have - the one with ourselves. Travel offers us the opportunity to re-establish that connection. Through increased mindfulness and greater self-awareness, we are able to see more into who we are and what we want.
